The Costa de la Luz sits between the two golf destination powerhouses of the Costa del Sol and the Algarve which means it has some very strong competition. However, it has not had vast amounts of investment into its tourism sector which leads it to being able to offer a truly authentic Spanish experience and an unspoiled landscape. The Costa de la Luz is the Spanish’s best kept secret.
The two main provinces that offer Golf are Huelva and Cadiz which are both very relaxed and easy going. The Huelva region borders Portugal’s infamous Algarve, so it has taken some inspiration from their neighbour. The two best resorts in the area are the El Rompido and Islantilla Resort which offer fantastic accommodation aswell as superb golf courses. There are many excellent Golf clubs in the area also to take excursions to. La Monacilla and Bellavista are glorious courses and are a must if in the Huelva region.
Further down the Spanish coastline sits Cadiz, the historical port city has a rich cultural history and is very authentic. Furthermore, it is also home to some fabulous Golf Courses and resorts. Barcelo Montecastillo is the standout resort of the area and is on the outskirts of Jerez. On the coastline sits some lovely resorts, notedly the Barcelo Costa Ballena and Iberostar Royal Andalus resorts.
