The Costa Blanca coastline is renowned for its lively nightlife and fantastic landscape which is perfect for golf holidays. The region can be split up into three main areas for golf.
Firstly, the Orihuela area covers the beginning of the Valencian border up towards a stretch of 25 miles. La Finca & Las Colinas Resorts are both well regarded and reside in this location. There is a high concentration of golf courses in the area considering it’s size. The Orihuela region is very close to Murcia, which in turn makes it very easy to mix and match golf courses from both areas. This option can create a more varied golf package for you which will enhance your golf holiday.
The Alicante area consists of three parts. Firstly you have the golf resorts and courses near Alicante city centre. This is a perfect option if you want to be able to have easy access to the city and are looking for a more authentic Spanish experience. A 35 minute drive up the coast will bring you to the second area for a golfing trip which is the infamous Benidorm. If you are looking for an extreme party atmosphere then this is a good option. You have an excellent resort in Melia Villaitana which sits on the outskirts of Benidorm centre. It is a smart way to balance the craziness of Benidorm as the resort is great to relax in. A further 40 minute drive up the coast brings you to the more tranquil area of Denia which is home to Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort.
The final stop of this spectacular coastline is the Valencia area. There is not as many golf options here but there is one standout resort. Parador de El Saler Resort is a luxurious complex and is only a 25 minute drive to the city centre. El Bosque Golf Club is also a great excursion to experience.
Murcia is in close proximity to the Costa Blanca, however it has a golfing identity of its own. There are over 20 courses within a 30-mile radius. The weather is, as expected, fantastic and with recent developments within the area it certainly offers lots to do for holiday goers.
La Manga is the most all-encompassing resort in the area, boasting three championship courses and a 5-star hotel and spa experience. It is truly like a town in itself with the land covering 560 hectares. It is no wonder they have won European Golf Resort of the Year on numerous occasions.
The Murcia inland consists of spectacular Mediterranean mountain backdrops and El Valle Golf has taken advantage of these features with its unique courses which were designed by yours truly, Jack Nicklaus. If you want a mix of Spanish coastline and some breath-taking inland landscape then Murcia is the place for your next golfing holiday.
